Sri Lanka is one of the countries with the most enforced disappearances in the world. Many Tamils were forcibly disappeared at the end of the war after entering state custody. The Tamil families of the disappeared have been protesting daily since 2017, demanding to know the whereabouts of their loved ones, despite continuous repression and harassment from security forces.
